Reasons Why Cheat Meals Are Actually Good For You

Cheat Meals: The Key To A Successful Diet

The Only Time That Cheating Is Okay!

So this week I fell off the wagon because it’s Spring Break and I’ve been out having fun with friends.  Unfortunately, that also means a lot of sugar.  So when Insane Home Fat Loss posted this video on Cheat Meals, I thought it would perfect to post, since I know I’m not the only one who fell off the wagon for Spring Break!

The science behind Cheat Meals, as defined by Insane Home Fat Loss, is this: “During extended diets, your body starts to believe it’s starving and stops you from releasing body fat for survival purposes. But if you give your body cheat meals periodically, this will trick the body to no longer stay in starvation mode and begin to release fat again.”

I think that if you’re just eating healthy in general, with lots of vegetables and fruits and protein, without restricting calories, this won’t be as big of a deal.  But if you’re doing a diet such as Weight Watchers or Atkins, then maybe the cheat meal is right for you!

I know my dad has a cheat meal once a week, but this video explains why it’s okay to have a cheat MEAL once a week.  Just make sure it’s not a cheat day, or a cheat week like what I did!  It’s hard to get back on the wagon once you’ve fallen off.

What’s your favorite cheat meal? I love my vegan pancakes drowned in syrup!
