Today’s shake features a few of my favorite fruits; strawberries, bananas and coconuts. It was delicious, and helped keep me really full for the morning when I was at school.
What I put into the shake:
- 8 Cups Of Almond Milk
- 3 LARGE strawberries
- 1 LARGE banana
- 1/2 of coconut chunks (I cracked open a coconut and got the flesh)
This required some prep on my part, because it required me opening up a coconut, and freezing the flesh inside for storage. I added all the ingredients into my blender (after smashing up the chunks with a hammer in a plastic bag), and put a straw in it and went out the door! Perfect for those busy mornings.
My dad likes to add his Visalus protein mix to his to make it sweeter, and usually I’ll add flaxseed and chia seeds but I was in a bit of a rush this morning. But, I still got a host of benefits from the different fruit that I used, and I felt great all day.
Coconut’s have a lot of different health benefits, including have a ton of potassium, calcium, magnesium and a LOT of fiber. It’s also anti-fungal and anti-bacterial, so it’s insanely great for your immune system. That along with all the antioxidants in the strawberries, and potassium in the bananas, this shake was a great way to wake up this morning.
If you want to add protein to this shake, or make it more of a meal replacment instead of a lazy college girl’s makeshift breakfast, check out Visalus protein mix. It also tastes really good and makes the smoothie go further in your day!
