Green Smoothies are a great way to bring in extra nutrients and a way to sneak in fiber and vegetables!  You can add anything into a green smoothie, and can tailor them for what you want to do.  They’re great for getting a flat stomach, healthy looking skin, building muscle, and a better quality of life! 

My dad and I both drink green smoothies first things into the morning, and our smoothies differ based on what we like.  I’ll drink a green smoothie made out of

  •          Spinach
  •          Kale
  •          Avocado
  •          Whatever berries we have in the fridge like strawberries, blueberries, ect
  •          Half a banana
  •          Parsley
  •          Chia seeds

Instead of water, we use almond milk at our house, and my dad likes to add two scoops of his Visalus protein mix to add even more added benefits!  This is usually my breakfast and is perfect for the long days that I’m in school till late at night, because it keeps me full through my two hour classes till I can go get food in the late afternoon.  It helps me from eating a bunch of junk food right off the bat in the morning, and it helps me start my day off right!  This has replaced my daily cup of coffee because it gives me so much energy throughout the day! 

For an extra treat, freeze the banana beforehand, and it makes the smoothie taste like ice cream, and keeps it cold.  These shakes taste so good, which you wouldn’t expect because it has so much vegetables and has Kale, which is an amazing superfood chockfull of essential vitamins and minerals such as Vitamin K and Calcium.  But you don’t taste it at all!  What a great way to get a good part of your daily fruits and vegetables!
